Booking Travel Proud is the label that is added to accommodation facilities that are particularly welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community. A very diverse community that is constantly growing and changing.
It is estimated that LGBTQ+ travellers have particular characteristics: they travel more often, spend more when they travel and promote brands that understand and support them exceptionally.
Of course, the LGBTQ+ segment is not made up of just one type of traveler. They are also parents, people of colour, people with disabilities, young people, older people and much more. Some love adventure, others love exploring new cities, others still want to discover their country. In the community we also find a variety of sexual orientations and gender identities.
Inclusive hospitality means knowing how to understand guests in their uniqueness and knowing how to communicate with them.
As a hospitality facility we have always been committed against gender discrimination and in favor of an environment as inclusive as possible. Through small gestures we can help people feel more at ease, less judged and therefore free to fully enjoy their holiday in Palermo!
- In the dormitories, for example, we guide our guests in choosing the bathroom to use, or the people to share the room with.
- In the private rooms we provide couples with comfortable double beds, without ever asking intrusive questions and respecting their privacy.
- Furthermore, upon check-in, you will not be asked to select your gender and you can freely tell us if you prefer to be called by a different name than the one on your identity document.
The important thing for us is that you have a good memory of your stay, and you can say that you truly felt at A Casa di Amici.

ARCIGAY: Arcigay Palermo provides the LGBTQ+ community and the territory with the following services: socialization and reception, counseling and psychological support, legal advice, medical advice, information and screening for sexually transmitted infections.
Furthermore, the volunteers are involved in promoting LGBTQ+ culture, promoting conscious sexuality protected from sexually transmitted diseases, promoting and organizing meetings in schools and universities, celebrating and remembering community anniversaries and holidays, international projects, as well as advocacy. The association manages the Anti-discrimination Center Protego and La migration, a helpdesk for LGBTIQ+ migrants.
